This experimental short film explores the intergenerational struggles of women, using surrealist metaphors to examine the invisible cages that confine women within the East Asian sociocultural context.
Through a nonlinear narrative, the film fragments time and space. It opens with a flashback to the protagonists' final farewell, while the recurring sound of rewinding tape weaves reality, memory, and hallucination into a closed loop. Blurring the boundaries between truth and illusion, the nonlinear editing breaks free from the constraints of chronological time.
As the caged rabbit survives in the final frame, the film leaves us with an unsettling ambiguity: Is women's awakening an escape into freedom, or merely a psychological jailbreak from a prison they can never truly leave?
